The Galapagos Affair: Satan Came to Eden is a true-crime story about a German doctor and his mistress who came to the islands in the 1930s to enjoy their natural beauty and isolation (just like Adam and Eve, as the media described them at the time), only to be followed there by two different groups of strange characters. Before long, someone was murdered. The film explores this odd affair with archival and modern footage, featuring the voiceover work of Cate Blanchett. It screens at the Portland Museum of Art (7 Congress Square) this weekend; today at 2 p.m. Tix: $8. 775-6148. portlandmuseum.org.
