CLASH OF THE TINYS

Round 3: Dead End Armory vs. Dead Man’s Clothes

This week’s Clash pits one Dead band against another. Only one of them may actually be defunct. Dead End Armory hasn’t played together for a few years; singer/guitarist Wesley Hartley has a new backing group these days called The Traveling Trees, which includes DEA bassist Leslie Deane. Guitarist T.J. Metcalfe recently departed Dead Man’s Clothes, but that does not necessarily spell the band’s demise.

The DEA track comes from their swan song LP, Hope You’re Good. The DMC song is from last year’s Ice is War EP.

In case you’re wondering, yes, these Clashes will occasionally include bands that are not currently together. The hope is that should one of them make it to the final next year, peer pressure will force them to take the stage again. And let’s face it: bands can always be convinced to reunite under the right circumstances.

Last week, Custardpaws & Mr. Freezy wiped the floor with Foam Castles, winning by a nearly three-to-one margin. How close will this week’s Clash be? That’s up to you…
