“Suzanne and Mark,” by Nan Goldin.

Wednesday, October 11

The new exhibition at the Portland Museum of Art (7 Congress Square) offers a generous overview of the vérité photography of Nan Goldin, giving us unvarnished glimpses of the artist’s social circle and surroundings and, by inference, her life. It opened Oct. 6 and runs through the end of this year; open today from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tix: $15 ($13 seniors, $10 students). 775-6148. portlandmuseum.org.
