University of Southern Maine professor William Steele is capping off his nearly 50-year career by directing the play that inspired him to get involved in theater in the first place, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? Edward Albee’s 1962 classic, in which a couple struggle to find meaning in their lives, is being presented in-the-round by the USM Department of Theatre. The show opened last month and closes with today’s 5 p.m. performance at Russell Hall, on USM’s Gorham campus. Tix: $15 ($11 seniors, $8 students). 780-5151. usm.maine.edu.
