The annual Little Festival of the Unexpected is a series of readings of new works by playwrights who develop their pieces right before your eyes. It kicks off tonight at Portland Stage Company’s Studio Theater (25A Forest Ave., Portland) with Koalas, by J. Joseph Cox, preceded by a Young Writers Project piece by Lily Jordan titled Curiosity May or May Not Have Killed the Cat, at 7:30 p.m. Tix: pay-what-you-can ($13 advance reservations).
