There are two Highlights events this month that always make the paper, and both are Cajun-related. The first is WMPG’s Fat Tuesday Cajun Cookin’ Challenge, in which chefs representing local restaurants vie for your vote by providing free samples of bayou-inspired dishes. Acadian Ace Rob Sylvain will perform, and ’MPG DJs will be spinning New Orleans music for your dancing and digestive pleasure. It happens at Woodbury Campus Center on USM’s Portland campus from noon to 3 p.m. Free (donations accepted). 780-4151. wmpg.org.
