The Portland Public Library’s Civil Rights Film Series concludes this evening with a screening of director David Berman’s film The Strange Demise of Jim Crow, a multi-layered look into the dynamics between the forces of white hegemony and those of black activism, as played out in the streets, the press and the courts.
