Evolution of a Criminal is filmmaker Darius Clark Monroe’s documentary reckoning with his own past. The director examines the circumstances that led him, as a teenager, to pull off a heist in Texas, and revisits his old neighborhood on a journey of reflection that reveals how many of the same negative forces affect today’s youth.
