Two photography exhibits open this month at the Portland Public Library’s main Monument Square branch. Downstairs, in the Lewis Gallery, you’ll find The Year in Photos, 30 large-scale pictures of notable people and events from 2014 by photojournalists working for the Portland Press Herald. That exhibit shows through this month. And in the library’s lower-level hallway you can check out Our Places, Our Times, a collection of images captured by the daily paper’s photographers from the 1930s through recent times.
