Ode to Urungus is a tribute to Dave Brockie, a.k.a. Oderus Urungus, a founding member of the mighty comic-metal band Gwar, who passed away in March. The heaviness begins at Geno’s (625 Congress St., Portland) at 6 p.m. with a screening of Gwar movies and music videos, followed around 9 p.m. by metalsmiths Lord Earth, the masked madness of surf punks Thee Icepicks, and Boston band Psycho, who once toured with Gwar.
