No shortage of great live music in Portland tonight. Rural Ghosts release an EP of well crafted indie-country at The Big Easy (55 Market St., Portland) with Aquanauts and the post-metal horror of Johnny Cremains at 9 p.m. ($7, 21+). The charming pop-turned-shoegaze duo 28 Degrees Taurus top a solid show at Slainte (24 Preble St., Portland) that also includes June Politano, the dance-poetry stylings of Hi Tiger and the sonic fistfights of Gimmie Goldar at 9 p.m. (no cover; 21+). 828-0900. And the supreme Kino tribute band Kino Proby play their once-a-year Russian rock show at Empire (575 Congress St., Portland) at 9 p.m. (call 747-5063 for cover; 21+).
