CLASH OF THE TINYS

Round 15: Darien Brahms vs. Lady Lamb the Beekeeper

Two of our most powerful singers go head to head in this week’s Clash: Darien Brahms vs. Aly Spralto (a.k.a. Lady Lamb the Beekeeper). Brahms has earned the title of Queen of the Portland Music Scene over the past two decades. “Cream Machine” comes from her 2008 release, Number 4. Spralto burst onto the scene that same year with For Handsome Animals, and seems destined to wear the crown someday. She’s apparently moved to New York, but performs up here so frequently that it’s like she never left.

The Clash had a bye week last week, but prior to that, Confusatron bested The Baltic Sea to move on to post-season play. Everyone will be voting for someone this coming week. After you’ve picked a mayor, mark your ballot here.

Lady Lamb the Beekeeper: “Walrus“

About Clash of the Tinys…

Every Friday, The Bollard selects and posts two songs by Maine musicians or bands. You have a week to vote for your favorite using the Polldaddy thingy above. There are also links to hear each song. You can only vote once per poll. We’ll announce each week’s winner in the proceeding poll. Then, early next year, the winning songs will go head to head in a series of sudden-death playoffs, until we’re down to just two. Those two acts will face off live on stage, and then we’ll start another series of Clashes. (If a finalist is a band that is not currently playing shows, the hope is that the prospect of winning this Clash will compel a reunion.)
