Spouse/Enter the Haggis

Spouse, circa 2006.

Saturday, April 30

It’ll be a bittersweet goodbye for Spouse, one of the best indie-rock bands the Pine Tree State has ever incubated. Frontman Jose Ayerve already has a brilliant and danceable indie-pop solo album on tap for release this year, but his group goes on indefinite hiatus after the gig tonight at Empire Dine and Dance (575 Congress St., Portland) with the literate and eclectic rock ensemble Spottiswoode and His Enemies, at 9 p.m. Tix: $8-$10 (21+). portlandempire.com. And though it’s exit Spouse, it’s the raucous Celtic rock of Enter the Haggis tonight at the Chocolate Church Arts Center (798 Washington St., Bath) at 7:30 p.m. Tix: $20-$22 (all ages). 442-8455. chocolatechurcharts.org.
