Our buddy Ben, one of the DJs on WMPG’s Saturday night “Soul Mates” show, has been spreading the word about the fantastically funky eight-piece soul band West End Blend. Lucky for us, they’re playing Portland House of Music (25 Temple St.) with the equally awesome circus-punk Gypsy-jive band Bella’s Bartok at 8 p.m. Tix: $10-$12 (21+). 805-0134. portlandhouseofmusic.com. And speaking of the West End, Portland filmmaker David Camlin will be screening local music videos he made, including the three-song video EP he worked on for alt-folk power trio Snaex, who’ll also perform at the gathering at Overlook (155 Brackett St., second floor) at 7:30 p.m. Suggested donation: $5-$10 (all ages; BYOB).
