The “creative economy” meets the real economy this First Friday in downtown Portland when the Working People’s Parade makes its way from the Mechanics Hall Ballroom (519 Congress St.) down to Monument Square. Participants (this could be you!) will be hoisting banners that celebrate trades from baking and farming to healing and hacking, illustrated by artist Ellen Babcock and USM students, starting at 5:30 p.m.
