As The Beer Babe wrote in her column this month, the beloved Munjoy Hill watering hole Mama’s CrowBar is closing on Labor Day. There’ll be one last bash tonight for all the bar’s patrons at a venue large enough to fit them — Geno’s (625 Congress St., Portland) — featuring performances by musicians, comedians and poets who’ve performed at Mama’s over the years. Festivities begin at 5 p.m. No cover (21+). 221-2382. And speaking of comedians, down the street at Port City Music Hall (504 Congress St.), the exceedingly funny John Hodgman (of The Daily Show and the popular Judge John Hodgman Podcast, among other notable achievements) performs “Vacationland,” a one-man show about the Bay Stater’s move to Maine (hooray!) and lots of other improbable stuff. Starts at 8 p.m. Tix: $20-$25 ($30 preferred seating; 18+). 800-745-3000. portcitymusichall.com.
