Los Lobos is over four decades deep into a career of consistently excellent live gigs and albums (including last year’s Tin Can Trust), and shows no sign of stopping. They bring their signature blend of Mexican and American musical styles to Waterville Opera House (93 Main St., Waterville) for an 8 p.m. show, with openers Girls Guns and Glory. Tix: $40-$50 (all ages). 873-7000. operahouse.org. A couple years before Los Lobos started jamming in a garage in East L.A., eight activists broke into an FBI office in Pennsylvania, stole every file there and began sending them to reporters. Among the secrets revealed was the existence of the nefarious COINTELPRO program. The documentary 1971 examines the details and implications of this action with, for the first time, commentary by the burglars themselves, who were never caught by authorities. It screens at SPACE Gallery (538 Congress St., Portland) at 7:30 p.m., followed by a live Q&A session, via video, with one of the subjects, conducted by ACLU of Maine Legal Director Zach Heiden. Tix: $8 ($6 students). 828-5600. space538.org.
