Naturally, the choir performing “Christmas with Renaissance Voices” at the Cathedral of St. Luke (143 State St., Portland) gets old school — like, 1500s old school — with compositions by Handl, Soriano and others, but they also bust out some modern works (Charles Ives’ “The Sixty-Seventh Psalm”) and pieces by contemporary composers (like Mainer Patricia van Ness). Performances take place tonight at 8 p.m. and tomorrow at 2 p.m. Tix: $12-$15. 729-4958. renaissancevoices.org.
