I know, I know — you’re saying, “Not another Americana band with one half-catchy tune and a dozen snoozers.” But listen, Silent Sam and the Evans are a cut above the current crop of pickers and crooners crowding the local scene. As demonstrated on their fine debut EP, City Life, the trio of strummer Evan Chase, drummer Evan Casás and bassist Sam Higgins have the chemistry, chops and confidence to catch your ear and make you feel comfortably down-home.
